Coral Pink Sand Dunes
Sunday, July 4, 2010
Sorry I have not blogged in several days. Tommy is wearing me out! By the time we get home, I'm just too pooped to type. This blog will be from last Friday....
We went to Coral Pink Sand Dunes with the Polaris. It was unusual. The dunes are actually pink. Very very pretty! They have 1200 acres of just dunes. For the first time, ever, Tommy was able to see what I see. With no depth perception. The dunes are all the same color and with the place that the sun was in while we were there, you could not see the tops or the bottoms of the dunes. It was scary and yes, I got out a couple of times!
We drove around for about an hour, but the winds were so strong that day that is was uncomfortable for us. We both got free exfoliation's.
We got off the dunes and found other trails to travel. One trail promised a natural spring at the very end. NOT!!! It must have dried up, because we couldn't find one drop of water.
Another trail promised dinosaur fossils in rocks. NOT!!!We searched, and searched, and nothing. All the while I'm looking over head to see if we are being hunted by mountain lions.
The next day, Saturday, we packed up and moved down to the Kaibab National Forest Campground, by the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.
